Thank You, Gloria

Help Democrats Take Back The House!

Dear Friends,

On Thursday, we woke up to the news that Gloria Steinem had passed away. May her passing give us the opportunity for many more people to know and understand what Gloria Steinem has meant to our country.

Personally, I loved Gloria and consider her a great champion who transformed America’s fight for equality, making the world a better place for women to participate. Her relentless advocacy and good-trouble-making inspired generations of women to know their power and take their rightful place in leadership.

Gloria was instrumental in giving women the confidence and the courage to run for office. In fact, in the 2024 election, 152 women lawmakers were elected to the United States Congress — the largest number in history — and we want more! Gloria knew that our society, our economy, and our country benefits from the increased participation and leadership of women.

Gloria used her voice to speak uncomfortable truths our society tried to ignore, and her power to break through barriers and open paths once firmly closed to women. She modeled for the rest of us on how to be ourselves, know our power, and get the job done. She never stopped marching for justice and equality, and as heirs of her extraordinary legacy, we must carry her fight forward as we continue to build our Blue Wave and keep marching all the way to the polls in November.

Gloria Steinem always encouraged women to vote. Voting rights have never been more important right now, as they are under attack from the President and his MAGA enablers.

We refuse to be held hostage to this unending, corrupt, and cruel power grab. That is why we must stop the so-called SAVE Act and also vote NO on Prop 39 — MAGA’s voter suppression initiative on the California ballot this fall. Prop 39 is another Trump power grab that makes voting harder for everyone, but especially for women with name changes from marriage, divorce, or widowhood. But women will not be fooled, and we will not be silenced.

And even in the face of their relentless attacks on our rights, we are even more relentless in our pursuit of opportunities for women and everyone. We don’t agonize about their bad behavior; we organize around supporting women and all who support equality and justice for all!

With sixty days until Election Day, let us confidently and courageously be ourselves, know our power, and get the job done. We all must keep making phone calls, having conversations with our neighbors, and fighting for what is right. Voting is the way we honor the society that Gloria Steinem and countless others fought to create and move closer to a society that we all dream of and deserve.

Thank you for all you are doing to build our Blue Wave and advance equality for all.
