Help Democrats Take Back The House!
Dear Friends,
Sunday marks 100 days before the November elections and several things are becoming very clear.
It is clear that the cruel, inept, wasteful and shameful policies of MAGA Republicans in the White House and the Congress are harming all of us — especially America’s working families and the most vulnerable among us.
It is also clear that MAGA Republicans DO NOT CARE about the harm they have caused. First, Republicans ripped away food aid and healthcare from millions of working families in Trump's Big Ugly Bill. And this week, instead of offering ANY help to the American people, MAGA House Republicans sought to risk more blood and treasure on the President’s reckless war in Iran.
Right now, MAGA Republicans in Congress are also attempting to advance bits and pieces of their so-called SAVE Act that would codify their attack on voting rights and suppress the rights of military families and millions of women. After FAILING the American people, they want to keep fed-up voters from firing them. The only thing Republicans are trying to "SAVE" is their hold on power — the American people deserve better.
Elections are about the future — a referendum to determine where we want to go as a nation. I have every confidence that Democrats will succeed in the midterms because our values are aligned with the needs of the American people. But we must have a focused message that makes clear how we will impact people’s lives. Every voter we are trying to reach knows the President is terrible — that is a given. They want to know what we will DO for them when we win. Democrats have to speak with clarity and determination about the issues that bring voters to the polls: access to affordable health care, rising costs of groceries, housing, fuel and more, the security and safety of our communities — from the threat of authoritarian overreach by this Administration to the threat of gun violence. Our Founders believed Democracy could prevail because they believed in the goodness of the American people. Along with goodness, we have faith and hope. We want people to have hope, not fear — fear is what the other side sells. Hope is our resilience and faith is our refuge.
Time is our most precious resource. So let’s waste no effort and take nothing for granted — owning the ground and knowing our power as we work to take back the House and deliver For The People and For The Children.
