Help Democrats Take Back The House!
Dear Friends,
From Day One of this Administration, YOU — our Volunteers in Politics — have joined us in working hard to raise awareness of all the terrible things the President and Republicans in Congress were doing and to inspire others to take action to stop them. We called into Republican-held California Districts to push back against Trump’s Big Ugly Bill and fight to Save Our Health Care. We created community and momentum to pass Prop 50 — stemming the tide of Republican redistricting overreach and inspiring the nation. Now, we will carry the spirit of the 4th of July forward into more action — fighting for working families, addressing their kitchen table needs and assuring them that government must represent the interests of the people, not the powerful.
This President and his MAGA Republican enablers have FAILED working families through a combination of inept policy, purposeful cruelty and a devotion to creating wealth for themselves and their ultra-rich donors. They control Congress and the White House and yet have done nothing but cut taxes for billionaires on the backs of the most vulnerable members of our society — cutting $1 trillion from Medicaid, half a trillion dollars from Medicare and hundreds of billions of dollars more from SNAP benefits that feed America’s children.
While Republicans have been busy tearing down our health care, Democrats forced passage of a bill in the Republican-held House to extend the ACA tax credits in a successful Discharge Petition. Senate Republicans need to do their job and pass this bill to restore health care for millions of Americans harmed by their Bill Ugly Bill.
Recklessly, the President has also chosen to spend taxpayer dollars on an ill-advised and war in Iran. Trump's War of Choice with Iran is driving up the cost of living, spiking the price of gas at the pump, crushing working families, endangering our troops and ruining America’s standing on the global stage.
Instead of working to bring relief to struggling Americans in his failed economy, Trump is trying to rig our elections with his co-called SAVE Act that would disenfranchise military families and millions of women. Trump has seen his abysmal approval numbers and knows that Democrats are on track to take back the House so he wants to block fed up Americans from voting Republicans out of office. Friends, reversing the Republicans' cruel cuts and shameful policy decisions is essential. The best antidote to their poisonous policies is to win elections and take back the House. That’s what we will do in November — because we have YOU!
No one is going to give us power; we are going to have to take it from them. So remember our 3 NOs — no wasted time, no underutilized resources and no regrets the day after the election that we could have done or given more. So let’s focus on connecting with voters and winning back the House.
Our phone banks are back in action on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm PT.
