As we observe No Kings Day, it is increasingly obvious that we are in a fight about whether we will be governed by the whims of a cruel autocrat who wants to control our bodies, our life choices, our voting data and our ability to vote – or if We The People will maintain our ability to live freely in beloved community. This weekend, we will be coming together again to make it clear that We The People will not be governed by the dictates of a wannabe king. The measure of a society is how it cares for its people – all of them. As Women’s History Month draws to a close, Equal Pay Day in 2026 comes even later than it did in 2025 – signifying that women must work well into this new year, on average, to make what men made last year. Women deserve equal pay for equal work and good paying jobs to provide for themselves and their families. We continue our commitment to ensuring all women are empowered to succeed and thrive in our economy – because when women succeed, America succeeds.

Sixteen years ago, we enacted the ACA — eliminating barriers to access coverage, preventing disease, improving health outcomes and making health care more affordable for millions. That progress gave more people control of their health and health care decisions. Passing the ACA expanded access to care for poor children, people with long term medical needs, our veterans — and we made sure that being a woman was no longer considered a preexisting medical condition! We passed the ACA and saved it from Republican attack because of the power of the outside mobilization. As we continue to defend it from unrelenting Republican sabotage, that outside mobilization will be essential to restoring what’s been taken from us and expanding health care even further.

Every phone call to Congress, every act of peaceful protest builds momentum toward ending this Administration’s authoritarian over-reach and delivering relief to the American people. Democratic leadership will bring accountability to counter their lies and corruption that have become commonplace under this Administration. We’ll restore our health care that was gutted to fund tax breaks for the rich, rebuild our economy derailed by ineptitude and re-imagine our government of, by and for the people.
