Help Democrats Take Back The House!
Our values, health care and free speech are on the line!
Dear Friends,
This morning, I voted NO on the Republicans’ horrible budget because my vote is to cancel the cuts and Save Our Health Care — NOT to approve Trump’s cruel scheme to take care away from millions of Americans.
A handful of swing district Republicans promised for months that they would not vote for a bill that cuts Medicaid — they broke that promise again and again. Today was another opportunity for them to do the right thing. Newsflash: they chose Donald Trump’s tax cuts for billionaires over health care for their constituents — again.
This — House Democrats’ fight for lifesaving health care for the American people — is why our support for Prop 50 in California is more important than ever. YES on Prop 50 is California’s opportunity to send a clear message of our Democratic values across our country.
California will always put our health care first over Trump and MAGA Republicans’ power grab — which isn’t just about political power but about Republicans grabbing economic power to decide who gets healthcare, who gets food aid, who gets a decent education, who gets their hard earned benefits — literally, whether our country delivers for all of us or only for the privileged few.

This week, we mark the start of Hispanic Heritage Month. America’s Latino communities enrich our culture, strengthen our democracy, and contribute to every aspect of American life. Celebrating this rich and vibrant heritage is all the more important now in the face of the abuses of power from agents of this Administration operating with a license to discriminate from a rogue Supreme Court — detaining people based on perceived race and ethnicity alone. While they separate families and rip apart communities, Democrats continue to fight their cruelty, demanding due process and a future where every family in America lives with dignity, respect and security.
We are a nation of laws — not kings, tyrants or would-be dictators — and this week also marked two very important days in the developing story of our American democracy: National Voter Registration Day and Constitution Day. Our vote is our power; our Constitution is our guide — and we, the people, are the heartbeat of our democracy. We, the people, respect our Constitution and will honor our oath to protect and defend it. “We, the people” is not just the launch spark of our Constitution but the core and spirit of the American experiment — our government by, for and of the people. No act honors our American spirit more powerfully than voting.
So across the country this week, make sure you are registered to vote and register your friends and family to vote — and in California, make sure to vote YES on Prop 50 this November to STOP Trump and MAGA Republicans from rigging the midterm elections in the House before a single vote is cast next year.
This special election is a sprint; we must own the ground every day from today until November 4th to win the fight of our lives for health care, for our rights, for fair elections and for the very survival of our democracy. But we can only win with your support. Join our phone banks to help fight the Republican power grab, Save Our Health Care and ensure that California votes YES on Prop 50!
