Help Democrats Take Back The House!
Dear Friends,
Republicans won’t answer for gutting health care, snatching food from babies or making groceries, housing, utilities, and fuel unaffordable — to give tax breaks to billionaires who didn’t need them. But accountability is coming anyway on November 3rd and the midterm elections will be the people’s referendum on the Republicans’ failed and poisonous policies — just as the Founders intended.
As our hero and my beloved friend John Lewis told us in his last words: “Democracy is not a state. It is an act — and each generation must do its part.” Friends, now is the time to do the hard work of Democracy: calling, texting, knocking on doors, talking to your friends, family and neighbors about making their voices heard at the ballot box. Vote early and once you vote, text or call three friends and tell them to vote early too — in person or by sending in their ballots right away. That’s how your ONE vote can become FOUR. And that’s how we WIN.
Our tremendous Prop 50 victory last November helped Democrats preserve a path to take back the House. As a result, we can win back the House with the seats we flip in California alone — but I want more. The best antidote to their policy poison is to just win. We don’t agonize — we organize with our participation in our elections to weigh in on who is making the decisions that impact people’s lives.
Democrats will win and elect Hakeem Jeffries as the next Speaker of a House majority that represents and fights For The People, not the powerful. When Democrats win, we will end MAGA’s cruelty, lower costs and begin our nation’s collective healing. Democrats will also take money from ICE and put it back into healthcare to fully fund Medicaid and ACA subsidies. Democrats will work to restore our Democracy, which has been scandalized by the current Administration. To put it plainly, Democrats will deliver relief to the American people from the cruelty, chaos and corruption of the current Administration and its MAGA enablers in Congress.
