Help Democrats Take Back The House!
Insist On The Truth
Dear Friends
My beloved friend and colleague of over 30 years in the Congress, our American hero John Lewis, wrote in his final letter to us that, “Democracy is not a state. It is an act, and each generation must do its part.” We must all accept his challenge and do our part — as we insist on the truth.
The truth is that Donald Trump's instability is clearer and more dangerous than ever. He impulsively began a war with no plan and no authority — even threatening to eliminate a whole civilization, “never to be brought back again.” If the Cabinet is not willing to invoke the 25th Amendment and restore sanity, Republicans must reconvene Congress to end this war.
The truth is that war is terrible for children and other living things. It's also horrible for the environment. Children born today will live well into the next century — we owe them a brighter future than our current trajectory would suggest. Even now, so many children in America and around the globe are already suffering from environmental injustice. For their sake and for goodness sake, it is our sacred obligation to save this planet.
The truth is that the best antidote to the Republicans' destructive, poisonous policy is to win elections. Democrats must win this November to counter this Administration’s abuses and defend the progress we achieved together. Winning the House in 2026 creates the path to winning the White House in 2028. Just as it did in 2006, when we elected Barack Obama in 2008. And in 2018, when we elected Joe Biden in 2020.
Democrats have momentum. We are seeing this in races across the country, up and down the ballot — even in the national press. Early voting has begun on Virginia’s redistricting efforts and runs through April 21st. Virginians will be voting YES to stopping Republican chaos and making life better. They will be voting YES to protect women’s rights, fund public education and address the kitchen table needs of working families.
