Help Democrats Take Back The House!
We will save our Democracy at the kitchen table
Dear Friends,
With Republicans in charge, it’s no wonder we’re facing a crisis at the kitchen table! Gas prices, food prices and health care costs are out of control – and they have done nothing to help and everything to make it worse. At best, the current occupant of the White House and his Republican enablers are simply out of touch with the needs of Americas working families. At worst, they just don’t care about anything but fulfilling their donors’ wish lists which are rooted in cruelty, chaos and corruption. Either way, working families are paying a huge price for the Republicans’ willful ignorance and neglect of the needs and concerns of the American people.
This President, his Administration and his congressional enablers who gut Medicaid and refuse to extend Affordable Care Act tax credits that millions rely on to get covered have all the money in the world for unnecessary tax breaks for corporations and their wealthy MAGA donors, ICE cruelty and recruitment bonuses and unplanned wars without congressional approval. Secretary Hegseth alone has spent billions of dollars on luxury food, expensive gifts and contractor largesse. Yet they claim there is no money for SNAP as they take food out of the mouths of babies, millions of Americans are without health care and families from coast to coast are struggling to afford food, gas and their basic needs. And Senate Republicans have yet to call a vote on extending the ACA tax credits, which passed the House months ago.
At the same time, Trump and Senate Republicans are working hard to silence the voices and punish military families and millions of married women American through their so-called SAVE Act. It wasn’t enough for Trump and Republicans to repeal Roe v. Wade, gut health care and snatch food from hungry babies — they decided to come for women’s voting rights too. On International Women’s Day this past week, the American president could have uplifted women, but he chose to do the opposite and double down on his scheme to make it harder to vote so he can escape accountability from voters. But, Democrats, we don’t agonize, we organize. And we will STOP them!
Democrats must win — and we will save our democracy at the kitchen table. Republican policies are tanking our economy, crushing working families and failing to lower gas, food and health care costs; they are a disaster for America’s working families. We can and must do better than this and it is in our power to do so. The contrast could not be clearer. Republicans are against government accountability, living wages, safe communities, clean air and water, affordable gas, food, housing and health care and reproductive freedom for all. Democrats are fighting for all of these values and are on the side of working families — fighting for issues that matter to and are talked about at the kitchen table.
As we saw last in the massive Democratic wins on California’s Prop 50 and in races from coast to coast, we will do the hard work of Democracy, vote them out and help bring relief to the American people by working together. Every phone call, every voter contact, every message of encouragement in these hard times builds the momentum that will drive big Democratic wins in November. And together, we the people will bring accountability to Trump and enablers in Congress who have effectively abolished their own power; we will bring change to this government, and we will heal our country.
