Dear Friends,
All year, we have been doing the work of building the Beloved Community — connecting with one another, lifting up our shared values, taking to the streets in peaceful protest and trusting the power of the people to hold their elected officials accountable.
Our relentless mobilization led to the historic and undeniable Blue Wave that delivered Democratic Majorities in the House and Senate, For The People, on November 3. And what a fantastic and resounding victory it was! I said we would flip at least 30 seats, and our terrific Democratic candidates won at least 40 seats — and counting. Representing the very best of America, they courageously answered the call to serve and carried our message of lowering Costs, expanding access to Care and ending Corruption directly to the people.
On our path to winning back control of both chambers of Congress, Democrats across our country made history — including electing more than 100 Democratic women to serve together in the House and trailblazing wins for women in the Senate and in governorships. In this election, the American people proved once again: When Women Succeed, America Succeeds!
Unfazed by the Republicans’ torrent of lies, bluster and intimidation, the American people made their voices heard. As promised, Democrats won the election and are protecting the election. Under the leadership of soon-to-be Speaker Jeffries, we will have a historically large Democratic Majority Caucus that is committed to reducing the cost of living and reversing Trump and Republicans’ sinful trillion-dollar cut to Medicaid, half-trillion-dollar cut to Medicare and $250 billion cut to SNAP food assistance for children and families — all so Republicans could hand tax cuts to their ultra-rich donors.
The determination to win this tremendous victory sprang from our immediate and collective decision in November 2024 to keep fighting for our shared values and for one another. Just days after that election, many of you joined me on an organizing Zoom, and, together, we got to work to Save Our Health Care. A year into this two-year fight, you worked your hearts out to win Prop 50 in California. And this week, we delivered all five Prop 50 seats. In fact, Democrats won every House seat Republicans tried to gerrymander away — and more!
Friends, that is the power of YOU: our VIPs — our Volunteers in Politics who saved our Democracy! Because of YOU, Democrats will have the power to restore goodness for our country, For The People and For The Children. Thank YOU from the bottom of my heart.
