Help Democrats Take Back The House!
Saving Democracy at the Kitchen Table
Dear Friends,
Election Day is a special and sacred day in our democracy. It is the day when we use the power of our vote to choose what kind of country we want to be.
In California, we have the power to fight back against Republicans’ cruel cuts to health care. With Prop 50, we have the power to defend our safety net, our communities and our democracy — we must use this power by voting YES.
We save democracy at the kitchen table — and one of the biggest expenses that families worry about at the kitchen table is health care. The Republicans’ Big Ugly Law that cuts health care and shreds our safety net to give tax breaks to billionaires is deeply unpopular. And they know it. So Republicans in Texas, North Carolina, and Missouri redrew their Congressional districts to try to stack the deck, steal the midterms and disenfranchise millions of voters to avoid accountability at the ballot box for what Republicans have done. With Prop 50, we are fighting back to level the playing field.
Election Day is this Tuesday! We must all commit to doing all that we can over the next 4 days to pass Prop 50 in every corner of California. This isn’t just about winning this proposition — the path to winning a Democratic House majority in 2026 starts right here in California’s swing districts. By making sure Prop 50 wins in battleground districts across the state, we are laying the groundwork to win the House, save our health care and stop the Republicans’ cruel and extreme agenda.
Of the many events this week to turn out a big Yes vote on Prop 50, our Volunteers in Politics and I were thrilled to be a part of the Women for Prop 50 phone bank. As primary decision makers on issues of health care and insurance, women voters know our families’ health and well-being are on the line. California women voters will stop Trump’s raid on food aid and health care and say NO to his power grab by saying YES to Prop 50. So let’s make sure we have NO wasted time, NO under-utilized resources, and NO regrets on November 5th that we could have done more to win YES on Prop 50!
Every vote counts to save our health care and democracy. Don’t be afraid of being persistent for good trouble. If your voting plan is to mail your ballot, do it NOW. Do not wait until Election Day. With only 4 days to go, turn your ballot in at a drop box or walk it into a vote center in person if you can — and tell a friend to do the same. In fact, go through your phone contacts and tell every California voter you know to turn in their ballot, TODAY!
We have a lot of work to do over the next 4 days to make sure that voters who support Prop 50 get their ballots in and that their ballots are counted as cast. We must own the ground — because we’re only having a conversation if we don’t Get Out The Vote.
Join us at virtual and in-person phone bank opportunities now through Election Day. We are calling voters to turn in their ballots, and along with our partners in Labor, the California Democratic Party, Grassroots Dems HQ and the Working Families for Fair Elections, we are walking precincts, knocking on doors and having real conversations with California voters to mobilize our communities and bring this victory home.

With so much at stake and our communities under attack, this is how we fight back!
I am grateful for our work together for our values. Thank you!
