Help Democrats Take Back The House!

Trump’s State of Delusion
Dear Friends,

This week, we saw a stark contrast between the real state of the union versus Trump’s State of Delusion — his state of delusion about the economy, health care and everything else, where he repeatedly lied about what we know to be true at America’s kitchen tables. The American people know that we are less safe, everything is more expensive and the policies of this Administration are more focused on dividing us than bringing us together. But we heard a lazy speech full of lies and theatrics, celebrating a government rooted in cruelty and corruption working on behalf of the President’s greed and his billionaire friends. We knew the speech would be full of illusion and delusion; that’s why I ripped up the speech in advance.

He promised “affordability” but doesn’t seem to care about nor believe the hard truth of what the American people currently face because of his illegal tariffs and incompetence. He talked about us having the best economy in American history. In reality, he and Congressional Republicans have stolen food out of the mouths of babies; ripped half a trillion dollars out of Medicare and a trillion dollars out of Medicaid for billionaire tax cuts and to fund ICE and detention centers; callously ended health care tax credits for millions; and purposefully tanked our economy. They are now plotting election sabotage and interference to avoid accountability and voter rage against his failed policies. They have no shame and must be stopped.

We know that as California goes, so goes the country. And coming off of the California Democratic Party Convention, we are more committed than ever to doing the work to continue our calls to save our health care and volunteer with purpose to form a more perfect union to win big in the midterm elections this November. Hakeem Jeffries will be the next Speaker of the House.

As we near the end of Black History Month, we contrast his vile racism versus our steadfast belief in beloved community where we respect the service and contributions of Black civic, cultural and elected leaders. We know diversity is our strength and we are at our best when we care for and support one another.

We also know that we believe in the goodness of people and that our young people are the present and future leaders we need to come out of this dark night with proof that our flag is still there with Liberty and Justice for all.

We hope to see you on our phone banks to continue our fight.

Thank you for all that you continue to do.
