Help Democrats Take Back The House!

We Are Powerful — Together!

Dear Friends, 

We know that when we know our power, focus on what we can control, and keep building toward meaningful change in our society rooted in love, peace, mutual respect, shared prosperity and beloved community — there is nothing we cannot do. 

We saw this on full display during the Super Bowl halftime show — America’s diversity is our strength and as Bad Bunny said, “the only thing more powerful than hate is love.” It is the power of our love for justice and one another that will help us overcome Trump’s intentional stoking of fear and division. We welcome one another as friends rather than see our neighbors as threats and enemies. 

We saw the power of peace in action as the venerable monks finished their powerful Walk for Peace traversing 2,300 miles in mindful silence and deep meditation. From Texas to DC — bringing people together in support of love and compassion all along the way simply by the power of their example. What an honor it was to welcome the monks to Washington, DC, alongside Leader Hakeem Jeffries and thank them for such an inspiring journey.

And we also saw the power of community and peace in action locally with a tentative agreement reached between the United Educators of San Francisco and the San Francisco Unified School District. I commend United Educators of San Francisco leadership, Cassondra Curiel, and all our educators who serve as custodians of our children’s future.  We want stronger, safer schools — and will continue to provide the resources and support necessary to achieve the vision.  My appreciation to Mayor Daniel Lurie for facilitating these discussions and partnering with community leaders to serve our 50,000 public school children and their families.

While the people of good conscience across our country demand and demonstrate peace and inclusion, the Republicans in Congress and the Trump Administration have doubled down on cruelty and on outright ignoring the needs of the American people. For instance, the Trump Administration’s decision to rip $600 million in Congressionally appropriated public health funding from California, Colorado, Illinois and Minnesota to give tax breaks to the wealthy is reckless, irresponsible and dangerous.  

Rather than stopping their monstrous policies and doing their part to make sure elections are protected and that it is easier for Americans to vote, the Republicans are trying to ram through their so-called Save Act  which creates massive roadblocks for US citizens to vote — including military families and married American women. After ripping health care from millions of Americans and causing costs to spike for working families, Republicans fear the wrath of voters in a fair fight. So we can plainly see what’s going on here and the American people have had enough.  

Massive Democratic wins last November were a WARNING to the Republicans that they are going to lose the House — and maybe even the Senate. So rather than stopping their insidious and destructive policies, they are doing everything they can to stifle the voices of rightful voters — Americans who may not support them – by preventing them from voting.  

Republicans know as we do that YOU have the power to STOP them. So contact your friends and ask them to call their Senators now and tell them to save us from the SAVE Act. We don’t agonize — we organize! That’s how we WIN.
