News From Nancy: Our Power To Fight Back
Help Democrats Take Back The House!
Dear Friends,
Donald Trump is slashing food assistance for working families while steering $1.8 billion toward pardoned January 6th rioters who violently assaulted police officers. Once again, he is putting himself, his loyalists and his wealthy donors ahead of America’s families and our Democracy — and the American people are paying the price.
Our response must be clear: fight for working families and put kitchen table issues ahead of Trump’s corruption and chaos.
That’s why this week I was proud to endorse Connie Chan as my successor in Congress. As an Asian American immigrant woman, Connie’s story reflects the promise of America and the courage of families who came here believing in opportunity, dignity and Democracy. At a moment when fundamental freedoms are under assault, San Francisco deserves a leader who will fight effectively and fearlessly for our values. Connie leads with both compassion and strength, and she will be a powerful voice for the people and for our children’s future.
To win back the House this November, we must remind people that they have the power to reject the Republicans’ cruelty and corruption. House Democrats will continue working to lower costs, protect healthcare, defend our Democracy and hold this Administration accountable.
As we look ahead, we also reflect on the leaders whose courage and conviction helped shape our progress. This week, we mourned the loss of Barney Frank — a brilliant legislator, a fearless champion for equality and a dear friend. Together, we worked to strengthen consumer protections after the financial crisis, expand access to affordable housing, advance hate crimes legislation and repeal “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell.” America is stronger and fairer because of his leadership and service.
And today, we honor Harvey Milk, whose courage and hope transformed San Francisco and inspired generations across the nation.
As we build on their legacies, let us keep fighting for a future worthy of our children’s aspirations and the sacrifices of those who came before us.
Thank you for your support and leadership,
NANCY
